How often should you change your unhealthy old pillow?

The importance of a sleeping pillow?

The sleeping pillow is important because it is a reason to either improve your sleep quality or if it is bad, it will be a cause of insomnia and discomfort at night, and thus this may affect your mood and your day at work.

A good pillow is an important factor in the comfort of your muscles and spine at night, as it gives you good support when your body is in a completely relaxed state during deep sleep.

Also, the pillow is important for improving breathing and easing inhalation and exhalation during your sleep, so it is important in preventing common respiratory problems such as sleep disorders or snoring.

Also, using a comfortable sleeping pillow helps improve the posture of your neck and maintain the activity of blood circulation towards the brain, thus improving blood supply to the brain and nerves and preventing headaches or feeling uncomfortable.

Why should you stop using your unhealthy old pillow?

When you buy a new pillow of any kind, you notice with time, for example, a year or two, its size diminishing and it no longer gives proper and comfortable support for your neck, as well as you may notice the appearance of some yellow spots or others that may not go away even with washing.

But what are the reasons behind this? Is it the type and quality of your old pillow or this matter normal for all people?

Here the answer ..

Yep! this thing is normal because the materials from which the pillows are made may shrink over time. After all, we sleep on them for at least 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

The pillow or sleeping mattress is also considered a fertile environment for the emergence of microbes such as dust mites, which feed on our dead skin cells and live in a warm, moist environment such as bedding because our bodies leave infrared rays that cause warmth and moisture in the sleeping environment.

These microbes may increase with time, even with the presence of a pillow cover or with continuous washing of it, it continues to appear and may cause health problems such as skin irritation and irritation of the nose and bronchi.

Sometimes you may notice the appearance of colored or yellow spots on your pillow that do not go away even with multiple washing, and the causes may be such as secretion of sweat during sleep, saliva, or body oils.
